Cheh Statement: Cars on Klingle Valley Trail

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Councilmember Mary M. Cheh (D-Ward 3), has released the following statement on the growing number of cars reported to have driven through Klingle Valley Trail, a mixed-use trail for pedestrians and cyclists located through the Cleveland Park. Woodley Park, and Mount Pleasant neighborhoods:

“I am aware of the occurrence of unauthorized cars driving on the Klingle Valley Trail and agree that it is imperative that better signage and barriers are immediately installed at the trail entrances. In fact, as long ago as August 16, 2017 and more recently on December 29th, I alerted DDOT of this problem –it is troubling that the improvements have not been made to fix what is a potentially dangerous situation. Residents who are enjoying this great new amenity should feel safe while doing so, and it is up to the District to ensure that safety as best we can.”
