Cheh cites FEMS inability to effectively respond to emergencies as signs of poor management

Washington, D.C. – Today, Councilmember Mary M. Cheh (D – Ward 3) sent a letter to Councilmember Tommy Wells, chair of the Committee on the Judiciary and Public Safety requesting that the committee demand from the executive a comprehensive plan to bring the District’s Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department back into a position of excellence, reliability, and prestige. As reflected in the attached letter Councilmember Cheh also expressed her belief that Chief Kenneth Ellerbe should resign.
