DPW Acting Director Christopher Shorter to present the “District’s Snow Removal Operations Plan”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Monday, October 26th, at 11:00 am, Councilmember Mary M. Cheh (D–Ward 3), Chair of the Committee on Transportation & the Environment, will hold a public hearing on D.C.’s snow readiness for the 2015-2016 winter season. Meteorologists with the Washington Post’s Capital Weather Gang will report on this year’s winter weather projections and Department of Public Works (DPW) Acting Director Christopher Shorter will present and discuss the District’s “Snow Removal Operations Plan.” This is DPW’s first winter season under Shorter’s leadership after Bill Howland retired from the agency after 11 years of service.

Acting Director Shorter will be on hand at the snow plow truck display with Councilmember Cheh prior to the hearing from 10:30 am-11:00 am.
